Christian Mejía

My inspiration comes from childhood summers spent around my grandmother’s kitchen table in rural Mexico.

My sense of storytelling telling is influenced by my tias and tios (brains buzzing with instant coffee) who would weave stories that split our sides like ripe watermelons.

My work ethic comes from a pair of industrious parents that always managed to make a lot out of little.

As a cinematographer, I use these influences to create striking images that invoke emotion in my viewers.

I earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Film & Video at Columbia College Chicago where I adopted a school of thought that emphasizes story-driven cinematography that is based on emotive lighting and deliberate camera movement.
